EULAR 2025 | LATE-BREAKING ABSTRACTS
EULAR invites you to submit a late-breaking abstract to the European Congress of Rheumatology, EULAR 2025, to take place onsite in Barcelona.
Late-breaking abstract submission opens on 14 April 2025 00:01 CEST and closes on 27 April 2025, 23:59 CEST.
GUIDELINES
All Regular Submission guidelines apply. In addition:
Late-breaking abstracts are defined as: “highly significant and timely findings in rheumatology that were not available by the regular abstract submission deadline”.
In the submission process, two additional fields have to be filled out by the authors:
- What makes your work highly significant?
- Why was the data not available by 15 January 2025?
To submit a late-breaking abstract, a non-refundable processing fee of EUR 100 will be charged at the time of online submission. Authors of rejected, incomplete or wrongly submitted abstracts will not be refunded.
Abstracts should not be submitted if the following applies:
- The abstract has been published or accepted for publication in a print or online journal before the LBA deadline (27 April 2025, 23:59 CEST). Publication of the abstract in a scientific journal after the submission deadline is not in conflict with presenting it at the EULAR 2025 Congress.
- The abstract was presented at a scientific meeting more than 12 months prior to EULAR 2025.
Abstracts accepted for the congress are subject to the EULAR Embargo rules. With the submission of an abstract, the authors agree to the embargo rules.
Late-breaking abstracts can be re-edited and modified up until the submission deadline (27 April 2025, 23:59 CEST). After the submission deadline, no modification will be accepted by the EULAR team. Please ensure that your late-breaking abstract does not contain any spelling, grammatical or scientific errors, as it will be reproduced exactly as submitted.
Late-breaking abstract acceptance will be as oral presentation; there will be no other acceptance categories. All accepted late-breaking abstracts will be presented onsite by the delegated presenting author.
Originality of data declaration and acceptance of exclusive licence rules must be completed in the submission process.
CATEGORY AND CONTENT
Late-breaking Abstracts must be submitted under one of the following tracks under the Abstract Submission Type: ‘Late-Breaking Abstract’:
- A. Basic and translational research
- B. Clinical research
These are subdivided into 28 topics. We have introduced the use of “Keywords” in the submission process. All submitted abstracts are mandated to select at least 2 and a maximum of 5 keywords from the list provided on the submission page. These keywords should be related to your abstract.
LATE-BREAKING ABSTRACT REVIEW
- Reviewers for late-breaking abstracts are the Programme Chair, the Abstract Chair and several members of the EULAR Board. The review form includes an additional field "Is late submission justified?" which can be answered "Yes" or "No".
- The Abstract Chair consolidates the scores and assigns the abstracts to an oral abstract session. There will be no other accepted categories for late-breaking abstracts.
- Abstracts will be reviewed, assigned to session(s), and authors notified on the week of 12 May 2025.
