Accepted abstracts are published in a special, digital only, supplement of the “Annals of Rheumatic Diseases – The EULAR Journal” at the congress (the “Abstract Book”). In addition, they will be available on the EULAR website approximately two weeks prior to the congress for information and planning purposes of delegates.
Abstracts submitted to the EULAR congress must not contain data that has been published or has been accepted for publication in a print or online journal before the EULAR abstract submission deadline (15 January 2025); please note this does NOT include the publication of abstracts presented at previous conferences in conference proceedings or similar, as per below. Publication of data as an article in a print or an online scientific journal after the submission deadline is not a violation of the embargo rule and is therefore not in conflict with presenting the data at EULAR 2025 Congress.
Presentation of an abstract or information thereof at another conference between 1st September 2024 and acceptance notification of the abstract for EULAR 2024 (week of 24 March 2025) is possible. This must be indicated on the abstract submission form.
Once the abstract has been accepted for EULAR 2025 it is automatically subject to the EULAR embargo and cannot be presented at another conference until the end of EULAR Congress 2025 (14 June 2025).
Academic institutions, private organisations, and companies, whose value may be influenced by information contained in an abstract, may issue a press release to coincide with the publication of an abstract on the EULAR Website. However, only the information contained in these abstracts can be reported on in the media. Any information that goes beyond that contained in the abstract (e.g. discussion of the abstract in light of any additional information that may be available at the time of the congress) is embargoed until 00:01 CEST on the opening day of the congress (11th June 2025). Any earlier reporting will be considered as violation of the embargo. Embargoed materials include, but are not limited to, posters, graphics, slides, and other written, audio, and visual materials associated with the scientific information presented at the EULAR congress.
Violation of the embargo may result in the abstract being withdrawn from the congress and/or other measures deemed appropriate.
It is the responsibility of the submitting author to inform any other interested parties about this policy.
