EULAR 2026 | ABSTRACT EMBARGO
Definitions
Abstract shall mean the summary of scientific
information submitted to EULAR for presentation and/or publication.
Recording shall mean the image and
sound recording of the presentation of the Abstract and of the person
presenting the Abstract.
Abstract
Restrictions
The scientific
information relating to the Abstract:
- may not have been or will not be published
in a print or online journal before the EULAR abstract submission deadline
(excluding publication of abstracts presented at previous conferences in
conference proceedings or similar);
- may not have been presented before the
EULAR 2025 Congress;
- may not have been presented between the
EULAR 2025 Congress and the week of outcome notifications for the EULAR 2026
Congress (week of 16 March 2026), unless disclosed in the submission;
- may not be presented after outcome notifications for the EULAR 2026
Congress (week of 16 March 2026);
- may not be part of a multiple-abstract
submission, unless disclosed in the submission.
In case of violation of this section “Abstract Restrictions”, EULAR may
stop the review of the Abstract, and/or withdraw acceptance of the Abstract, and/or
remove the Abstract from its publication(s) and/or take any other measure/s EULAR
deems appropriate.
Abstract
Embargo
Each author hereby agrees:
- not to release any information
relating to the Abstract, in particular not to release the Abstract, and/or the
scientific information relating to the
Abstract, and/or research data and/or any part thereof, between the date EULAR
has accepted the Abstract (March 2026) until the first day of the EULAR 2026 Congress (3 June 2026).
- As an exception
hereto the Authors may:
- issue a press
release on or after the date of the publication of the Abstract on the EULAR
Website, provided the information disclosed in the press release is limited to
the information contained in the Abstract
- publish the
scientific information relating to the Abstract in a print or online journal,
if the article has been submitted prior to the EULAR abstract
submission deadline;
- to ensure that any
stakeholder, such as academic institutions, private organisations, and companies
will only issue a press release on or after the date of the publication of the
Abstract on the EULAR Website and to ensure that the information disclosed in
the press release is limited to the information contained in the Abstract;
- to ensure that
any third party complies with this
section “Abstract Embargo”.
In case of violation of this
section “Abstract Embargo”, EULAR may stop the review of the Abstract, and/or withdraw acceptance of the Abstract, and/or remove the Abstract from its publication(s)
and/or take any other measures EULAR deems appropriate.
It is the responsibility of the submitting author to inform any other interested parties about this policy.
